PROLIGHTS shedding light on the baptism of “Kronprins Haakon”

23 April 2019

Norway – PROLIGHTS TABLEDs were used to illuminate the baptism celebration of Norway’s new purpose-built Polar-research ship, the “Kronprins Haakon” (Crown Prince Haakon). The Norwegian state-of-the-art ship is the first vessel to be built in over 100 years. The baptism of the Kronprins Haakon was awash with various high-profile Norwegian ministers, many celebrities and the ship’s new godmother, the Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

Norwegian event company Moloen AS, located in Tromsø were entrusted with the high-profile event for the Polar Institute. PROLIGHTS TABLEDs was the perfect partner for this occasion due to the intimate yet sophisticated nature of the event. The battery powered fixture has fast-become known as the centerpiece to have at any event. The range of output colours, DMX controllability and fast set-up allowed Moloen AS to swiftly prepare for the event without having to worry about ambience, wires or light accuracy. The 360° coverage ensures enough light to fill the table without compromising the atmosphere.

Carl August Tidemann, Sales Manager of Prostage Norway who supplied Moloen AS with the fixtures explained that, “the TABLEDs are a fantastic fixture. They are so versatile and elegant they can be used at any event or in any setting. The quality of the inbuilt battery allows for up to 19 hours of continuous use, which is key in a fast-paced events environment. Weighing in at just over 1kg, the fixtures have become a staple in any events company or rental house throughout Norway”.
