The beginning of July is a lovely time of year. The heatwave is beaming down upon us (in most places), the birds are singing and somewhere in a field in Belgium, festival-goers are donning their backpacks to trek to this years’ Rock Werchter.
Yann Windey was one of the many making his way to Rock Werchter with one twist; he was armed with 10
Jetbeam2s, 6
Sunblast3000FCs and a Chamsys MQ80. Not the average bottle of water and beer that most are carrying through. Windey the renowned lighting designer and operator for the up and coming Belgium band ‘Glints’ was thrilled with the outcome.
“The Chamsys MQ80 is my desk of choice and I am really happy with the way the TRIBE Jetbeam2s and the PROLIGHTS Sunblast3000FCs. The strobe effect worked really well and it surprised me with the level of output” Windey explained. "Glints, who describe themselves as an ‘otherworldly’ band are an eclectic mix between electro and hip-hop meets soul who can be seen to give everything they have into a performance which is highly apparent through their energetic on-stage presence. The lighting is a big part of the atmosphere at a concert or festival and therefore has to be spot-on. The Jetbeam2s cut through even on the brightest stage providing a sharp and high-quality beam that really fit in with the atmosphere."
