These are not the values that any company hangs on the wall. They are the principles that guide our days, and some of them are not comfortable. We write them out in full, with their upsides and their downsides, so that you can work out, before you apply, whether they are yours too. If they are, it is rare to find somewhere that suits you as well. If they are not, better to know now, for both of us.
Excellence, without compromise
We come from the other side of the stage, where once the show starts there is no second take. We carry that threshold with us: we aim to do things well, and we expect the same from the people who join. We put a great deal of effort into helping newcomers grow, and when someone struggles we support them. But we do not lower the bar: that is the hardest part of this principle, and we are not hiding it.
Work well, and sometimes work hard
Method comes first: we believe that a well-used day produces what takes twice as long elsewhere. But we will not hide behind words: in a competitive market, excelling also takes effort, and the workload here is sometimes heavy. It is not for someone looking for a consistently predictable rhythm. Anyone who puts the effort in, though, does not do it alone: we care that the commitment stays sustainable, and anyone who needs to switch off, switches off. Trust runs both ways.
Talent counts more than experience
We hire with the long term in mind, so we look at potential first. Many of the people we are proudest of joined with little experience and grew quickly, because they were put in front of real responsibility straight away. It is why no advert of ours makes a qualification mandatory.
No silos
We do not believe in "that is not my job". Teams are small and people are versatile: work happens across departments, not inside boxes. Anyone with a skill makes it available to whoever needs it. If something needs doing, it gets done, without waiting for someone to assign it.
The customer comes first
Our products end up in the hands of professionals who cannot afford for something not to work. So we do not simply listen to the people who choose us: we try to anticipate what they will need, from design through to service. Every role, even the one furthest from the customer, works knowing that at the end of the chain there is someone switching on one of our lights in front of an audience.
We speak plainly
We say things to each other, with respect but without going round in circles. Honest feedback, even when it is uncomfortable, is worth more than a polite compliment. And whoever receives it takes it for what it is: a way to improve, not an attack. It works in every direction, including towards the people who decide.
Decide fast, execute with method
Solid structure, startup moves: roles are clear, but processes stay agile. Whoever leads a project decides who to involve without endless meetings, and whoever is not involved trusts them. Important decisions, and the reasoning behind them, are shared with everyone. In uncertain cases, a good solution today is worth more than a perfect one in three months.
We provide the tools, the rest is on you
We give you a mentor when you join, the in-house academy, product training, trade shows, and external training when a specific skill is needed. The people to ask are here, and so are the tools. But learning is not something that lands on you while you wait: there is no passive role here for someone who "gets trained". If something is missing for you to do your job well, you are the first to know it, and the first move is yours. We never say no to someone who wants to grow.
Results first, recognition after
We ask a lot, and we know it. That is why anyone who puts themselves out finds a company that recognises it: in their pay, in their responsibilities, in their growth. But the order is this: first you take on a responsibility and show you can carry it, then comes the classification that certifies it. And it does come. Anyone who wants to do more will not find a ceiling waiting for them.
In closing
We are not asking you to share all of this from day one, or to agree with every line. We are asking you to read these principles properly, and to ask yourself whether this is how you want to work. If the answer is yes, we have a good chance of building something together. If it is no, you have found out at the right moment.
