The Justice Tour's Brilliant Comeback with EclPanel TWCXL

After seven years of great anticipation, French electronic band Justice has announced a massive tour to celebrate the release of their new album Hyperdrama. At the helm of the project is lighting designer Vincent Lerisson, who selected two kits of 12 PROLIGHTS EclPanel TWCXL fixtures for this new production.

The PROLIGHTS EclPanel TWCXL is an ultra-bright LED soft light that comes with a full range of white tones and powerful colors. For this work the panels were placed upstage and used for their incredible luminous output, functioning both as powerful strobes and for advanced pixel-mapping effects. One kit is touring across North America, while the second is being used on the European leg.

Vincent Lerisson stated that he chose the EclPanel TWCXL because the band really liked mirrors, and from that idea, he came up with the concept of creating a wall of giant projectors. He started looking for powerful sources and landed on the PROLIGHTS EclPanel TWCXL because, as he put it, “it was a product which was finished at that time - they were a little ahead of the others.” This made him one of the first to use a projector typically used in cinema for a live setting.

He then explained that while the EclPanel TWCXL is a very modern fixture, he wanted to evoke the traditional idea people have of projectors — those classic shutters you always see in movies. Since the band loves mirrors, he decided to design a kind of mirrored shutter element, to visually suggest the idea of massive projectors sitting behind the setup. It wasn't about function, but about symbolism and visual impact — and, in his words, he feels they pulled it off quite well.

All of this was made possible thanks to the collaboration with ESL France, who supplied the fixtures.

Once again, PROLIGHTS units played a key role in delivering a truly spectacular show.
